மசூரியிலிருந்து நைனிடால் பயணம். மசூரியிலிருந்து கிளம்பி, டேராடூனில் காத்திருந்தபோது பெரிம்மா எழுதியது.
A world of innocence
I and my daughter packed
clothes,Jerkins,woolen-wares and shoes;
My granddaughter did her own packing with
innumerable crayons,eight pencils,six pens,
seven sharpeners,five erasers,
three scissors and one geometry box (I don't know what for)
besides storybooks,notebooks and drawing books
-We left for Mussoorie
we enjoyed cool breeze that comes through tall deodar trees
exotic aromatic air from white chestnut blossoms
we walked uphill,downhill till our knees ached;
we tasted aloo parantha,apple crumble,sweet lassie
at 'Char Dukans' (Estd in 1910)
Lo! The day came for departure
Our case is added more with
Tibetan styled purses,bags and bangles;
Kashmiri jacket and stoles
-Heavier than before!
I stealthily checked my granddaughter's bag
Little pink and white flowers from the weeds,
-a small bark of a deodar tree,
-a green fern twig for preservation
- dried leaves of some unknown trees,
- an unshaped stone chip from the mountain rock
- a round white pebble,
oh,what a world of innocence!
What a world of non-materialism!
What a world of non-consumerism!
I wish to go back there.
